To collaborate for the formation of reflexive critical subjects in the different knowledge levels (technicians, graduate and postgraduates), capable of accomplishing the development of educational, scientific, economical, political and cultural levels in a maintainable way in communities of low income.
The principal objective of the Cooperatives Cells Learning Program (PRECE) is to motivate, support, and create opportunities so that children, adolescents, young men and women, and adults of the rural communities of Ceará may invest in their studies, to conclude their basic teaching and to enter the university.
Existing since 1994, PRECE already assists more than 2,000 students of the municipal districts of Pentecoste, Apuiarés, Paramoti, General Sampaio, Unirim, Fortaleza and Maracanaú. The intellectual development of the youths of the rural communities has created a generation of enterprising men and women.
The educational actions of PRECE follow the methodology of Cooperative Learning, where each student has valued experience or expertise and he or she helps the others in the knowledge areas where they are most involved. At the same time, each student receives help from others in the areas where she or he may have more learning problems.
Students study in small motivated groups (educational cells) where each one is responsible for a certain area or discipline of learning. They receive orientations where university students who have participated in the program in the past explain any questions they have. Many of the university students return to their home communities for weekends to participate in the educational cells.
